METACOGNITION INSIGHT REFLECTION THERAPY (MERIT) FOR PERSONS WITH PSYCHIATRIC DISORDERS
Two randomized controlled trials of the MERIT was conducted in our lab. The first took place at the community clinic at Bar-Ilan University and examined different questions regarding process and outcome of the MERIT for persons with schizophrenia. This trial was lead by the past PhD students: Libby Igra and Adi Lavi-Rotenberg, with the past MA students Brit Shalom, Gilad Sher, Liad Olansky and Sharon Shilon, in collaboration with Prof. Paul Lysaker, the developer of the MERIT. The second trial is a pilot one aim to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of the MERIT in an inpatient setting and is lead by the Ph.D. student Yael Cohen- Hazani at Eitanim psychiatric Hospital, in collaboration with Prof. David Roe from the Univesrity of Haifa.
STIGMA AND MENTAL HEALTH: DIFFERENT DISABILITIES AND CROSS-CULTURAL EFFECTSStudies that are focused on stigma on our lab include: 1) Attitudes of health professional towards people with psychiatrics disabilities. This project is lead by the PhD student Gabi Peretz. 2) Examining the correlates of stigma and self-stigma in ultra-orthodox community and ways to reduce it. This project is being conducted in collaboration with MAAYANEI HAYESHUA' medical center and with the Ph.D. students Ayala Jacob, in collaboration with Prof. David Roe from the university of Haifa. PSYCHO-ONCOLOGYStudies in the field of psycho-oncology focused on two main topics. The first involves dyadic processes in coping with cancer and examine patterns of communication on illness related issues. Research on this topic is supported by a grant from the Israeli Cancer Association, is carried out in collaboration with Prof. Eshkol Rafaeli and DR. Michal Braun and coordinated by the PhD. student Keren Sella. The second project focuses on the remission stage, and is carried out in collaboration with the medical staff of the Oncology Department of Sheba Hospital. The project lead by the PhD students Maya Yardeni and Shahaf Bitan. |
